In our workshop we are producing bows after the model of a bow that the fiddle player Sjur Helgeland (1858-1924) owned. It is shorter than the modern bow and has a convex shape when it is
tightened. This bow produces a lower sound, but makes it easier for the player to achieve distinct rhythmic articulation, which is well suited
for the traditional tune material.
Besides making traditional fiddle bows we are also repairing and rehairing them. If you need your bow to be repaired, please don`t hesitate to come and visit our workshop.
In our shop at the Ole Bull Academy we are also selling different types of modern bows and bows of the baroque type. Please contact us, if you are interested in buying a bow.
