This special Hardanger lute with four resonance strings is a joint research project of lute maker Lars
Tørressen and Felemakeriet / Lukas Pawelka. Aim of the project was to develope a completely new musical instrument, which can be used for playing Norwegian folk music. The instrument
combines the playing feel of a regular lute with a richness in overtones known from the Hardanger fiddle. This project was subsidised by Vestland fylkeskommune, Bergen kommune and Senter for
folkemusikk og folkedans.
You can hear the finished Hardanger lute at Osafestivalen in October 2023.
This double neck guitar has been made by Lukas Pawelka in 2022
